Azerbaijan has been known since ancient times for its blazing fires, it is often called the "Land of Fire". On Absheron there is a place called Yanardag, always burning and never extinguishing the fiery mountain. These places have been considered sacred for centuries, and at different times were worshiped as fire worshipers by followers of Zoroastrianism, Hindus and Sikhs. The fire towers "FlameTowers", which became the visiting card of the capital, are a tribute to history, and also personify the symbol of the new Azerbaijan.
In the Middle Ages, the Great Silk Road passed through Azerbaijan. Being at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, the country has a unique geopolitical and geographical position, from ancient times to the present day it remains important for international economic and cultural ties. Today, Azerbaijan is a young state that is already playing an important role in world politics.

For decades, the industry of the country was represented by oil production, chemical industry, metallurgy, machine building, and agriculture - cotton growing, viticulture, vegetable growing and livestock. The extraction of oil and combustible gas has made this place famous since ancient times. Azerbaijan has become the state that has first mastered the powerful energy potential of the Caspian Sea and is forming a qualitatively new economic model in the development of the region, playing an important role in the Caspian and Caucasus region in expanding political and trade ties between Europe and Asia, in developing the Caucasus transport corridor, in implementing projects of global importance.

winter it is worth traveling for the ski resorts, in summer for recreation in
the mountains and on the shore of the Caspian Sea, and in spring and autumn it
is nice to see the sights of the Fiery Country. In addition, many international
exhibitions and no less interesting cultural and religious holidays take place
in Azerbaijan every year.
